Smarter AI Assistant Conversations

New Features

  • AI-powered routing proposals on quote parts

Forge AI can now suggest manufacturing operations directly on a part's operations section. A 'Propose routing with Forge AI' button lets you request routing suggestions on demand, and parts created from uploaded drawings automatically receive routing proposals.

  • AI suggestion tracking with 'Accept all' pill

A new pill indicator shows how many AI suggestions are pending on a quote (e.g., 'N AI suggestions · Accept all'), making it easy to review and accept AI-filled fields in bulk. AI badges also appear on individual proposed operations so you always know what was AI-generated.

  • Field-level AI provenance on quote parts

AI-filled fields on parts, materials, operations, and purchased items now retain a provenance marker across page reloads. Markers are automatically cleared when a quote is sent or converted to a job, keeping your records clean.

  • Company setting to enable or disable Forge AI routing proposals

A new toggle in Company Settings lets administrators turn Forge AI routing proposals on or off for all quotes. The feature is enabled by default.

  • Improved drawing reader shared across the product

A unified drawing reader now powers part uploads, job purchase order uploads, and Forge AI — delivering more consistent material and dimension extraction from engineering drawings across the entire workflow.

  • Forge AI can now create clients with a full address and first contact

When creating a new client through Forge AI, you can now supply a complete address and an initial contact person in a single step.

  • Forge AI duplicates parts together with their attached drawings

Duplicating a part through the Forge AI assistant now carries over all associated drawing files, so nothing is lost in the copy.

  • Smarter material lookup in Forge AI

Material matching now uses lexical search first, improving accuracy when Forge AI resolves material types, shapes, and processes from catalog data extracted from drawings.

  • Forge AI can search material shapes and manufacturing processes

New search capabilities let Forge AI look up catalog resources for material shapes and manufacturing processes, enabling more accurate part creation from drawings.

Bug Fixes

  • AI chat now writes part data and provides a summary in the same response

Previously, the Forge AI assistant could split its write action and its summary into separate turns. This is now done in a single turn for a smoother, more reliable experience.

  • Client and supplier name lookups no longer guess when a match is ambiguous

Forge AI will now return a clear error instead of selecting a potentially wrong client or supplier when the name provided does not resolve to a confident match.

  • Sending or converting a quote now correctly clears all AI provenance markers

AI-suggested fields on operations created through the tool layer were not having their provenance cleared on send or convert. This has been corrected.

  • Accurate RFQ details in AI search results

The AI assistant now returns correct and complete information when looking up RFQ details, resolving an issue where certain fields were missing or incorrectly referenced.

  • AI assistant now remembers drawings throughout the entire conversation

Drawings and attachments shared early in a conversation with the Forge AI assistant remain accessible and usable in later parts of the same chat session.

Improvements

  • Production board cleaned up by removing unused equipment columns

Internal equipment type and specification columns that were no longer in use have been removed, streamlining the production board data.

  • AI routing proposals generated faster after bulk quote creation

When creating multiple quotes at once, the AI now processes routing proposals in parallel batches of four, significantly reducing wait time for large submissions.
