Smarter AI Routing Suggestions

New Features

  • Custom inspection plans for quality assurance

You can now create, edit, and delete your own inspection plans directly on a job, replacing the previous fixed first-article inspection (FAI) chain. Plans support custom names, cadence settings (e.g., every N units), measurement units, and template modes.

  • Inspection markers on the operation cycle bar

The job routing bar now displays visual markers showing where quality inspections are scheduled across the production cycle, giving you an at-a-glance view of inspection checkpoints.

  • Production board badge reflects inspection plans

Work order cards on the production board now show quality status based on your active inspection plans, so operators can see outstanding inspection requirements without opening the job.

  • Automatic report reconciliation after quantity changes

When a job's quantity is updated, inspection reports are automatically reconciled to match the new quantity — adding or archiving reports as needed so your inspection coverage stays accurate.

  • AI chat tool call history persisted on messages

The Forge Assistant now saves the parameters and results of any tools it uses directly on the chat message, making AI interactions more transparent and auditable.

Bug Fixes

  • Drawing snapshot captured at inspection sign-off

The revision drawing in effect at the time an inspection report is signed off is now saved with the report, ensuring a permanent record of which drawing version was used.

  • Inspection plan deletion is now guarded

Deleting an inspection plan that has existing reports now requires confirmation, preventing accidental loss of quality records.

  • QA panel badge cache refreshes correctly

The quality badge on the production board now updates immediately when inspection plans or reports change, so status is never stale.

  • Purchase order expected-receipt date anchored to send date

The estimated receipt date on a purchase order is now calculated from when the PO was actually sent, rather than when it was created, giving more accurate delivery estimates.

  • Email attachment errors reported clearly with automatic retry

When an email attachment cannot be processed, the system now explains why it was skipped and automatically retries temporary download failures.

  • AI assistant ignores unread emails and keeps attachments out of follow-up messages

The Forge Assistant will no longer attempt to answer questions about emails it cannot read, and attachments are no longer re-sent unnecessarily during multi-turn conversations, reducing errors and payload size.

  • "1 reports" pluralisation corrected to "1 report"

A small wording error in the inspection report creation confirmation has been fixed.

  • Email sends now appear in the Activity log

Sending a quote or purchase order email is now properly recorded in the Activity log, so your team has a full history of customer and supplier communications.

  • No more false "Unsaved Changes" warning on locked quote parts

Viewing a converted (locked) quote part no longer incorrectly prompts you to save changes when navigating away.

  • AI assistant now shows client and supplier names instead of internal IDs

When the Forge AI assistant presents action confirmation cards, it now displays recognizable client and supplier names rather than raw system identifiers.

  • Quality inspection characteristic updates no longer affect unrelated items

Editing a characteristic in an inspection plan now correctly applies changes only to the intended item, preventing unintended updates to other characteristics.

  • AI no longer suggests raw material as a routing operation

When using AI-assisted routing proposals, the system previously could incorrectly recommend the raw material itself as a manufacturing operation. This has been corrected so routing suggestions are always valid and actionable.

  • Various stability fixes across quoting and job management

Several small issues identified during a pre-release review have been resolved, improving reliability in areas such as quoting, work orders, and job handling.

Improvements

  • QA panel grouped by inspection plan

The quality panel on a job now organises inspection reports under their respective plan headers, with quick-access actions to edit the plan or open its template.

  • Inspection name suggestions with cadence inference

When creating an inspection plan, the system suggests names and automatically infers the inspection cadence (e.g., first article, every 10 units) based on the name you type.

Security

  • Security improvements to inspection plan permissions

Access controls for inspection plan management have been tightened to ensure only authorised users can create or modify plans.
