Reporting a Bug

If something looks wrong or doesn't work the way you expect, you can report it without leaving the page you're on. Forge captures the context for you, so you don't have to explain where you were or attach anything yourself.

How to Report a Bug

  1. Open the Forge AI panel (the tab on the right edge of the screen, or press Cmd/Ctrl + J).
  2. Click the bug icon at the bottom of the left sidebar in the panel.
  3. Forge takes a screenshot of the page behind the panel, then opens a short form.
  4. Describe what went wrong in your own words. Be as specific as you can: what you did, what you expected, and what actually happened.
  5. Pick how serious it is: Minor, Normal, or Blocking.
  6. Click Send report.

That's it. You'll see a confirmation, and the report goes straight to the Forge team.

What Gets Sent

Along with your description, each report automatically includes:

  • A screenshot of the page you were looking at
  • The page address so we can find the exact screen
  • Which record was open (for example, the quote or job)
  • Your email, so we can follow up if we need more detail or to let you know it's fixed
  • Your browser and screen size

You don't need to add any of this. It's captured for you.

Tips for a Useful Report

  • One issue per report. If you've run into two unrelated problems, send two reports.
  • Say what you expected. "The total should have included tax but didn't" is more useful than "the total is wrong."
  • Report it when you see it. The screenshot captures the current state, so reporting right away gives us the most to work with.

A Note on Screenshots

The screenshot captures the page content. A couple of areas can't be captured because of how browsers handle them: the PDF viewer and the 3D CAD viewer may appear blank in the image. If your report is about one of those, describe what you saw and we'll take it from there.

What Happens Next

Reports land directly with the Forge team for review. If we need to ask a question or tell you a fix has shipped, we'll email you at the address on your account.
